Paddon out of hospital after shunt on day one of Rally Portugal

The only works driver that comes from New Zealand and drives for Hyundai World Rally Team with name Hayden Paddon had a nice start of the Rally Portugal 2018.

He led briefly but only for a just one special stage and that gave him a special boost to press the gas pedal down to the metal.

What happened next?! Nothing, a shunt for him with some bruises that lifted him to the hospital for a check.

It was nothing special and he was released from the hospital soon afterwards.

But the problem was that he couldn't restart the rally under Rally2 super rules because of that.

His next outing should be in Sardinia where we will see him in the 3rd official Hyundai car instead of Sordo.

Just to remind you: both of them, Sordo and Paddon have seven events each and share the third car while Neuville and Mikkelsen have a full season campaign.

Hyundai World Rally Team brought four cars to Portugal just to gave this two guys, Sordo and Paddon, an opportunity to have seven events each.

Sordo is 4th on the leader board at the moment with tarmac outings later in the season while Paddon still has five events in front of him.
