Hi, Steemers!
There is no need to present you a character of Colin McRae if you are a motorsport fan. Every kid knows a Dirt game or Colin McRae Rally on Play Station or PC. Because of him probably I started to drive myself.
Here's a photo of Colin and legendary Subaru Impreza group A (before WRC era) cutting somewhere on RAC Rally (toady WRC Wales GB Rally).
I was more of a Richard Burns Rally kind of guy. The game was so good it still holds up today with the physics it had XD
colin mcrae 2.0 is the most similar to real rally driving to me
Yes, Burns is still the best simulation of rally driving. Also, the championship mod was always unpredictable, like the real thing. In every other rally game, you have fix driver's times and a number of crashes. Evry time you drive a stage, your opponents set the same time. It use to drives me nuts. The only problem of Burns Rally is low budget.
Out of Colin games 2 and 5 were enjoyble to me, but the new Dirt ofers best driving expirience.
well, from my driving experience on real rallies I could say that colin mcrae 2.0 is the most similar to real action (for me)
Can somebody tell me what is so interesting in driving modern rally cars nowdays? What for we need for example sequentional gearboxes? Give more power to the cars, make them more simple [suspension, engine] and rallying again will be in golden age... In 1998 WRC cars still had manual gearbox and it Was fun to watch it - You knew the driver Was a true boss when he Was pushing maximum... Now You have 3 buttons and everything is so boring... And the style of driving has changed a lot for worse...
style is much cleaner without sideways but clock says you are faster that way. you're right that modern era is boring, also domination in sport is no good. 90s were golden era of rallying and i don't see when in near future it can be changed.
Very nice post. I've followed them. They are really great. You are also incredible in your work. Good luck always for you @ssekulji.
thx ;)
