RE: Gaz's Week of Sporting Stress. Issue 6
Awww man.... football. I have to step away from it sometimes cause I get so fired up, especially about my home team Liverpool.
I haven't been following the footie this season at all, so some may call me a 'fair weathered fan' ;-)
You back off now when Liverpool are doing great! All those years of pain!
I was reading a book by Nicky Tanner, a Bristolian lad who, miraculously, signed for Liverpool by Kenny Dalglish. He was in the last squad to have won the title. 28-9 years ago. It's called From a field to Anfield. It's a great read for a little insight behind the scenes of Bristol Rovers and Liverpool.
I'll check out that book for sure. I didn't know Liverpool were doing good in the league if I'm honest. I have not been able to follow the football at all this year for one reason and another. I can't really drink at the moment and, for me, footie and the pub go hand in hand.
I must get back into watching the game on the internet with a cuppa instead ;-)
You're right about the ritual of beer and footie. I'm not a big drinker at all but football is the main culprit of me consuming alcohol. Pre game pub visit's just become mandatory in Bristol or in Bucharest. If it wasn't for this my alcohol intake would be negligible. I'm going to have a cuppa on Saturday and make the effort! 😁
The Pool are unbeaten at the moment and are joint top with Man City. Klop seems to have them playing well and has sorted the defence out. This could be your year!
