Inter manual - How to lose 70 million euros in a single day

in #sport7 years ago (edited)

Inter was once known as one of the teams that invested the most in European football.

The Nerazzurri club has had among its ranks some of the world's most famous players.

However, Inter is also known as one of the clubs that has failed in most of their transfers. Last Friday they proved this to be true once again.

First, Inter bought the so-called "Gabigol" for a figure of 30 million euros from Santos, winning the competition with many other European clubs, for what was believed to be the "New Neymar." Of course as it happens often with Inter, the investment turned out wrong as the player never managed to fulfill his potential. Last Friday his transfer was confirmed. A return from where he came from, Santos.

It's not just Gabriel Barbosa's departure the only loss for Inter that day. Another big loss confirmed was the one the of Joao Mario.

The portuguese midfielder, who is very much praised in his home country because of good appearances with the national team, never managed to do the same with Inter.

Nerazzurri paid a total of 40 million euros for him, which were never justified. On Friday he confirmed his move to West Ham on a loan with a full bying option during the summer transfer window.

Both of these departures confirmed a 70 million euros loss in wrong transfers, and the bill is payed on the same day so to speak.
