Olympian 3D-Printed Shoes
Adidas is Giving Rio 2016 Olympians Their Own Futurecraft Shoes
Erica says: Some adidas-sponsored winning Rio 2016 Olympians are going to be receiving a special pair of adidas' new 3D printed shoes. The 3D-printed line called 'Futurecraft' will now have a new addition dedicated to the athletes that is aptly named '3D Printed Winners Shoes.' The name sounds pretty direct and is definitely an ode to medal-winning athletes at the international games. The Winners Shoes have been approved for running up to 10km, so it definitely holds some weight as a performance shoe for sportsmen and women alike. To add to the winning Olympian aspect of the trainers, adidas offers three shoe lace colors: bronze, silver and gold.
Currently, one Olympian has already received the shoe -- silver medal-winning women's rugby player Tyla Nathan-Wong from New Zealand. The athletic brand has not announced when the shoe will be released for purchase but it's working hard to promote it as a high-performance shoe by placing it on the feet of winning 2016 Olympians who'll be all over the media at the Rio games.
