Stokes, currently suspended from England duty following his arrest on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm in Bristol in September, has arrived in the Antipodes - but to New Zealand, ahead of his likely debut for Canterbury on Sunday in a 50-over game against Otago.

The all-rounder's chances of appearing in the Ashes seem slim, with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) expected to take several weeks to make a decision after being asked for charging advice from Avon & Somerset Police following the conclusion of its investigation.
