Vigorous exercise reduces the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease at the childhood

in #sport6 years ago (edited)

Physical exercise is essential and can be practiced by the whole family.

The benefits of daily practice are felt very quickly. They can have many positive impacts on physical health, mental health and quality of life and stress.

Indeed, previous studies show that regular exercise, even just 10 minutes of intense physical activity, is enough to improve the ability to concentrate.

In addition, physical training impacts on the brain, the immune system and against depression, and can erase the damage caused by cardiac aging.

Best of all, studies also show that exercise is beneficial in preventing cognitive impairment and dementia.

In a recent Finnish study, researchers show that vigorous exercise can reduce the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, even in children.

The results are published in the journal Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, October 1, 2018.

HOW TO DECREASE CARDIOMETABOLIC RISK IN CHILDREN?

After a two-year follow-up of elementary school children, sedentary behavior increased the accumulation of risk factors, while the increase in the number of vigorous physical activities reduced it.

This follow-up study is one of the first to reliably demonstrate these associations in children.

Results are based on follow-up data from the PANIC (Physical Activity and Nutrition in Children) study, in progress at the University of Eastern Finland.

This data was produced in collaboration with scientists from the University of Cambridge, the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences and the University of Copenhagen.

TWO YEARS OF FOLLOW-UP FOR THE RESULTS

The study analyzed for two years associations between changes in the amount of vigorous, moderate and light exercises.

The researchers looked at sedentary behaviors, risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. This included information such as body fat content, waist circumference, insulin and glucose levels, blood lipids, and blood pressure.

The amounts of vigorous, moderate and light exercise, as well as sedentary behaviors, were measured objectively using the Actiheart® device. Made by the British company CamNtech, this device records heart rate and body movements.

The children wore the device continuously for at least four days and the measurement period included weekdays and weekend days.

The PANIC study is a scientifically reliable source of data on children's health. An ongoing lifestyle intervention study, it involved for these current results, a total of 512 children aged 6 to 8, in initial measures in 2007-2009.

The study applies scientifically sound methods to study in depth the lifestyles, health and well-being of children.

It provides new information on a broad spectrum including: physical activity, sedentary behavior, nutrition, fitness, body composition, metabolism, cardiovascular function, brain function, oral health, quality of life, effects of exercise and nutrition on the health and well-being of children, the effects of these factors on health care costs.

INCREASE THE LEVEL OF VIGOROUS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IS BENEFICIAL

During the two-year follow-up, the overall risk and individual risk factors for type 2 diabetes and the cardiovascular effect decreased in children who increased their level of vigorous physical activity.

In children whose sedentary behavior has increased, the risk has also increased. These changes were independent of sex, biological maturity and lean mass, as well as levels of risk factors and physical activity measured at the beginning of the study.

The study is very significant because it is one of the first follow-up studies in the world to show the effects of vigorous exercise reliably. It demonstrates that increasing the number of vigorous physical activities is independently associated with reduced risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in primary school children ordinary.

A physically passive lifestyle is becoming more and more alarming for children and young people almost everywhere in the world.

In this way, these results confirm the role of physical activity in the prevention of chronic diseases already common in childhood.

ESSOUFFLEMENT ET TRANSPIRATION DURING CHILDREN FOR 60 MINUTES

Children and youth should do more physical exercise than is necessary for daily activities.

Finally, the results show that increasing the number of vigorous physical activities and reducing sedentary behavior is just as important for preventing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

According to the latest recommendations, children need a variety of physical activities each day and at least 60 minutes should be considered vigorous exercise.

In practice, vigorous exercise refers to exercise or games that cause shortness of breath and sweating.

In addition, prevention of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease starts best in childhood. The PANIC study is a source of scientifically valid data on children's health. She has already shown that the accumulation of risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, which usually exists in overweight people, often begins in childhood.

This is of concern because the accumulation of risk factors in childhood greatly increases the risk of contracting these diseases in adulthood.

Stay active with your family even in winter!

According to this recently published study, regular exercise and avoiding a physically passive lifestyle is an effective way to reduce the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

To conclude, all these arguments can only motivate us to practice vigorous physical exercise daily with the family.

Whatever the season, it is possible to practice a physical exercise (look well you will find). Staying active even in the winter is vital if you do not want to find yourself fat like a loukoum or tired of any activity.

"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world," said Nelson Mandela (1918 - 2013), and sport is, it seems, a powerful weapon to preserve and improve health from an early age.
