Musim kompetisi 2018 sudah didepan mata, pada Senin 18 Maret ini, sirkuit Losail Qatar akan menjadi momen perdana 25 rider Motogp dari 12 tim unjuk gigi di sirkuit yang dikelilingi padang pasir itu. Berbagai spekulasi dilontarkan pengamat motor dunia , mulai dari hengkangnya The Doctor setelah akhir seri nanti sampai isu kepindahan Marc ke Ducati.

Tim kuat Honda, Yamaha dan Ducati diprediksi tetap mendominasi podium di setiap seri nantinya . Walau musim race tahun ini banyak wajah baru yang naik peringkat dari moto2, seperti Xavier Simeon, Franco Morbidelli, Takaaki Nakagami, Thomas Luthi, Francesco Bagnaia dan satu lagi rider Asia Tenggara Hafizh Syahrin yang mengecap debutnya di kelas utama ini juga belum banyak mengubah persaingan seperti tahun sebelumnya, itu terlihat dari hasil tes pra musim Sepang, Buriram dan terakhir di Losail.

Hasil tes 10 besar masih dipegang oleh rider lama, bahkan tim satelit juga belum bisa berbuat banyak, kecuali Zarco Yamaha Tech3 mendapatkan poin penuh pada tes pramusim sesion 3 di Losail yang berakhir Sabtu 3 Maret lalu, runner up Valentino Rossi, dan Marc Marques terpuruk di posisi ke enam.

Ada yang masih yakin Rossi akan berusaha keras mendapatkan Champion 2018. Tapi banyak juga yang meragukan komentar-komentar itu, karena pada pra musim ini, Rossi belum puas dengan tunggangannya YZR-M1.

"Jujur saya lebih fokus pada Marquez, Pedrosa, dan Zarco. Saat ini mereka sudah memiliki setengah modal untuk menegaskan bahwa mereka akan benar-benar kuat. Lalu kita juga melihat Yamaha," kata Dovi, dikutip La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sementara publik pecinta Motogp banyak menjagokan Marc Marquez jadi juara dunia MotoGP 2018. Berdasarkan jajak pendapat akun twitter #PorraMotoGP2018. 41 persen masyarakat menilai the Baby Alien berpeluang besar menjuarai musim 2018, Rossi hanya mendapat dukungan 17 persen pada jajak pendapat diawal Januari lalu itu.

Diakui atau tidak, Motogp berutang kepada the Doctor, dia mampu membangun kelas balap dunia menjadi ikon balap roda dua dunia. Kata ku, seri Motogp tanpa Rossi, seperti “Sayuran tanpa garam”, sangat hambar dan tak legit.

Tidak hanya penonton atau fansnya, rider tim Ducati sekelas Dovioso mengakui hal itu. Mood nya memacu si kudi besi langsung turun setelah mengetahui Rossi keluar dari lintasan. Itu hanya untuk satu seri, bagaimana nantinya bila sang legenda itu benar-benar hengkang dari balapan? Apakah Franco Morbidelli yang diusung tim satelit Marc VDS yang konon anak didik Rossy di VR Academy mampu memberikan persaingan ketat tahun ini terhadap lawan-lawan Rossi seperti Marc dan Jorge Lorenzo? Sepertinya belum, sesumbar boleh, tapi kemampuan Marc dan tunggangannya masioh sangat kuat.

Tapi namanya saja Motogp, banyak drama dan hal-hal unik disetiap serinya, kita lihat saja nanti, siapa tahu Hafizh Syahrin yang selalu berada di papan tengah Moto2 , bisa melampui semua spekulasi diatas dan menjadi juara di kelas utama ini. Apakah itu mungkin terjadi, menurut saya ya bisa saja, karena sejak tahun lalu Dorna mengeluarkan regulasi yang sangat kompetitif, tim satelit bisa memiliki motor tahun terbaru dari pabrikan.

Artinya, Syahrin dan Zarco (Yamaha Tech3) bisa menunggangi motor sejenis motor yang ditunggangi Vinales maupun Rossi. Kecepatan dan akselerasi sudah pasti sama, tinggal nyali dan mempertahankan kecepatan di line race.
Kalau itu terjadi, saya rasa semua akan menangis terutama Marc Marquez dan Lorenzo. Hahaha.., “kok bisa ya,” mungkin kata hati Marc seperti itu, karena kesal.
