I keep hearing about people loving sports and doing exactly what you do BUT I have never met one guy like that :) It's just like a mystery, something what doesn't really exist, lol. And here you are!! Thank you for making me sure that these men really exist and they go through any hustle to watch their favorite game! ;)

lol I do have lots of passions in my life but sport has always been a huge part of it. My dad took me to watch Bristol Rovers when I was seven years old so I guess I never really had a chance! 😁
Once you start watching a team, regularly meet family and friends, get to know the people around you and start to understand the history and traditions of your club, it transcends kicking a ball around on a piece of dirt. It becomes tribal, even a kind of religion. Your match day routine becomes important and in some superstitious cases, vital! For some people it IS their social life. Traveling up and down the country with a bunch of people that you only really know through supporting your team. Admittedly, some of the more extreme versions of this are even a little weird to me! 😁
I watch the team in Bucharest to replace the craving for the routine of watching Rovers back home. It's not the same but it is one of the sacrifices that I had to accept when we moved away from the UK.
Do you not have any sporting interests at all? Even a little one? Playing or Watching? I also have a passion for Cycling, Skiing and Scuba Diving too.
Wow! It really sounds like a religion, lol! I didn't know that you moved from the UK to Romania. Was it because of the work?
Of course I do! I enjoy ice hockey, skating and cycling - I like to watch them, but it's not unusual that I forget that it's on and do something completely different. Playing is not that easy for me as I have some movement limitations that unable me being able to keep up with any kind of collective sport, unless it's a petanque, lol. I do a lot of walking, hiking and a bit of weightlifting as well..
We moved from the UK in 2009. Initially went to Bahrain for 5 years, then Thailand for 2 years and now Romania for just over 2 years. Jayne is a business and economics teacher and has taught at different international schools in each country. I'm an EAL teacher and a football coach and have done a mix of working at the same schools or doing private tuition. My daughter goes to school at whatever school Jayne is teaching at.
You sound very active and into sport either way. I've played petanque and enjoyed it immensely. I know it can get very competitive. I've never really been into Ice Hockey although I did go and watch the Green Bay Gamblers once upon a time.
Maybe if I actually do ever get my butt to Switzerland in the summertime you could give me a tour on the bike!
You lived in very interesting countries! How do you like Romania? I hope that your daughter doesn't mind moving that much.
Yeah, I try to do as much as I can with the limitations that I have. It helps me to stay active :) Oh, I love petanque! And I'm also very lucky in this game :D I don't know how but I keep winning :)
I'm originally from Slovakia and Ice Hockey used to be very popular there.. so it stayed with me..

I'm loving Romania. It's very different to the other places we have lived but a bit more like home. We seem to have found the right balance here which has helped us settle as a family. That balance never came in Thailand, much to my disappointment.
Jaime has been brilliant with the moves. She was 6 years old when we decided to leave the UK. Her relationships with family and friends were strong, so It was tough but she has overcome it. I think she is starting to realise the choices that we have made have benefitted her. She is 15 now and in her exam year so it's a big year for all of us in the grand scheme of things.
Romania is a nice country and I have a few friends there. They are very warm and nice people. Oh yes, Romanian love their free time and know how to enjoy it :)
What a strong girl! I'm glad she realized that it has benefited her and I wish her good luck with the exams!
