Ashes 2nd Test Betting Tips - Australia v England Predictions for Adelaide

Australia and England will clash in the second Ashes Test starting on December 2 at the Adelaide Oval. Latest Ashes second Test betting tips & predictions can be found below.

England competed well on the first three days of the Gabba Test but from day four onward, the English and Aussie paths diverged. Steven Smith led Australia to a slender lead with a century of his own after England, at one stage, found themselves in a position of great strength.

And once Joe Root was dismissed on day four after getting a start, there was no looking back for the gritty hosts.

Come the second Test, which is a day-night Test, and there're a few things to consider if you are looking to put your money on either side.

  1. This is the first day-night Test in Ashes history; so not really too much precedence.

  2. Only six previous Tests have been day-nighters. Australia have played three of them and won all.

  3. The two previous day-night Tests played in Adelaide were low-scoring while the Gabba game turned out to be a high-scoring thriller.

  4. The ball starts to hoop around post the twilight session and batting is generally difficult in that final session of play. Especially against the new ball.

  5. Both Adelaide day-nighters have been won by the team batting second.

If you keep these things in mind, you would be good.

Love your work. The pink ball test is a great opportunity to beat the bookies because they'll mostly still treat it like a regular test and will get the odds wrong in-play. Innings changes, particularly early declarations ahead of the twilight session can be game changing. Mitch Starc is deadly with the pink ball swing, but the English bowlers might get more swing too than they do normally in Australia. Regardless, your bets are sound. Good luck.

Thanks @flameburst - you nailed it when you spoke about in-play - and that's why I love Test cricket even more. Give a lot of earning opportunities because you can usually read how a pair of batsmen are going on a pitch in a particular session and decide accordingly. Day-night Tests, as you said, makes it that much easier if we get the conditions right.

Absolutely. There are even arbitrage opportunities that pop up in-play because it's basically us against all the bookies trader teams and they often get it wrong.
