[Premier League] Face Chelsea, De Bruyne: Just a Regular Game to Win
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne once defended Chelsea, which this weekend will be faced. For him it is just one ordinary game that must be won.
De Bruyne recruited Chelsea from Genk in the winter of 2012 with a transfer value that reportedly reached 7 million pounds sterling, although immediately re-loaned to the Belgian club.
In the summer of 2012, De Bruyne loaned again to Werder Bremen and look impressive throughout the 2012/2013 season. But it does not continue when it's really uniformed Chelsea start summer 2013.
Having been plagued by injuries, De Bruyne only played nine games throughout the competitive arena for the Blues before being released to Wolfsburg in January 2014. Here he stole the show again.
De Bruyne appearance at Wolfsburg to make City then willing to pour 55 million pounds sterling in order to recruit him in the summer of 2015. Under his third season at City, the 26-year-old Belgian is now a pillar in midfield.
On the weekend, Sunday (4/3/2018), City is going fast to the throne Premier League champions will host Chelsea. For De Bruyne, the game against his former club is just meaningful raihan numbers only.
"It's not a game that has an excessive meaning to me, no thought in my mind," De Bruyne was quoted as saying by the Express.
"It's just an ordinary game, we have to win, they also need a win, we want to keep our current level and they have to fight to get through the big four," he said.
When City entertain Chelsea, De Bruyne will also face Eden Hazard who is a partner in the Belgian national team. Have a good relationship with Hazard, their friendship will still be marginalized first in the game.
"I know Eden very well and when we face each other it's a duel, but before and after that it's normal," De Bruyne said.
"When they won last year I congratulated them because they deserve it and if we can win this season then we deserve it," he said.
