[Premier League]: Review of the 25th round.

in #sport6 years ago

Hello! So came the end of the next round of the English Premier League. In the 25th round there were several interesting confrontations and let's dwell on them in more detail.

Manchester City - Arsenal

Well, since we are talking about interesting confrontations, we will immediately begin with the central match of the tour. "Citizens" of the house took Arsenal, which this season can not get rid of the traditions of Arsene Wenger. In the away matches, the Gunners still look weak and very rarely score points. On the eve of the match, I wrote a forecast that both teams would score and the forecast went. But in the course of the game, I caught the opportunity to make a big bet on the total of less than 5 goals in a match, which also passed successfully. In general, Arsenal is still the same, so far Unai Emery can not change anything in the team, but if the club will not make hasty decisions, the Spaniard may eventually succeed. Now for Manchester City. The team this season looks no worse than last season, and according to Guardiola even better. However, this season the “citizens” have already lost points three times with the average teams, which are simply obliged to beat. What is the reason is difficult to say, but the team loses points on level ground allowing the leader to go into the lead. This match began as well as with Newcastle, Sergio Aguero scored a quick goal and a sense of déjà vu began to emerge. But after only ten minutes, Laurent Koscielny compares the score and in general, before the break, the game was more or less equal, until a minute before the end of the first half, Sergio Aguero again did not take his team forward. After the break, Arsenal was simply none, the “Gunners” could not organize any normal attacks. As a result, in the 61st minute, Sergio Aguero makes a hat-trick, the ball was hammered by hand, but if even if this goal did not count City would still have scored, just Arsenal allowed it to do. Manchester City confident win in this match with a score of 3-1.

West Ham United - Liverpool

Now let's move on to the match in which the championship leader tried to maintain his five-point advantage over the City. The "hammers" are returning to the home stadium after almost a month. West Ham had three consecutive guest games, one of which was in the FA Cup, and it is worth noting that United lost all three of these games. The more unexpected was the speech of Manuel Pellegrini, who on the eve of the match said that he would help the City and stop Liverpool. Quite a sharp statement, if we consider that half of the core team is in the infirmary. However, the game put everything in its place. In the last round, Liverpool did not use the chance to come off at 7 points while the team had almost 10 days to prepare. But in this match, everything just got worse. Liverpool let the City down by three points already and it seems that the Reds will already let the “citizens” go ahead in the next round. Liverpool again showed up last year’s problems in overcoming an echeloned defense near the opponent’s penalty area. Called to help solve this problem, Nabi Keita does not cope with this task. Also, the team showed problems out of the pressure. All this leads to the fact that in two matches the team loses four points. Liverpool needed “fresh blood” in the form of reinforcement of the attack and reserve team, but Jurgen Klopp decided that he would cope with those players who are at his disposal and this is in my opinion his main mistake, which can be fatal. In this match, the feeling of déjà vu also did not leave. And it did not disappoint, Sadio Mane's rather quick goal did not lead the team to go forward, but rather the opposite. After this goal, which should not have been due to the offside of James Milner, Liverpool began to err more often under pressure from the opponent and could not overcome his defense. In the end, everything ended as in the last round.

In the rest of the tour matches everything was pretty predictable, their results at the end of the post.

Well, the disappointment of the tour, in addition to Liverpool, I consider the second Liverpool team - Everton. "Toffee" again lose, this time to Wolverhampton at Goodison Park. Quite a good team with a good selection of players and a rather big budget, the next season “hangs out” in the middle of the standings. However, it could be worse. Fulham suffered another defeat in this round, neither a change of coach, nor new acquisitions help the team out of the bottom of the standings. A year ago, Crystal Palace overcame similar problems and easily beat the “cottagers” with a score of 2-0. Fulham is time to sound the alarm, because thanks to the victory of Cardiff in this round, the gap even from the 18th place is already 5 points.

Chelsea! Forever in my heart!

So for Arsenal was there any real need to sack Wenger? If he was still around, they would be in the same position. Wenger was only half the problem, the other half is still very alive in the form of owner Stan Kroenke
