FINDING THAT PURPOSE, LIVING THAT DREAM AND MAKING AN IMPACT.

I wake up every day to see people live a shortchanged life, some will say to you “live like you are going to die any minute.” Have you ever stopped and ask yourself that if mankind is to live their lives as such, then we shouldn’t have problem ranked as animals or even lesser because every living being, including animals has purpose, even non living things like stones has purpose. Animals; for instance, live their lives until their purpose is dissolved in death. I mean, look at the lifecycle of a chicken; A chicken feeds, grow older, lay eggs and die, even some live up to their purpose till the very end i.e they serve as meat for human’s consumption. Human was destined for greatness from the very start of creation, we have potentials and we have the ability, we are capable of learning, we are capable of change, and every great achievement starts with the littlest effort. I have seen horses compete in races; each not willing to give up until the race is completed but most humans can’t persevere, some are contented with whatever life offers. Contentment can be a good virtue at times but also bad most times. I have seen people settle for less because they undermine their own ability; they forget that there is more to life than living from hand to mouth. I have seen people rather existing than living. It is understandable that life is an irony. Though life is full of uncertainties but still we could achieve certainty by securing our future, and to succeed, it requires sacrifices, efforts, a dream and finding purpose.

I have studied life enough to understand that anything that is achievable had risks tied to it. Success involves risk and failure involves risk, but many still go for failure because it is affordable, and the risk attached to it is lesser compared to that of success, many would still settle for less. Life is too short to be wasted, a lot of people die every day, most of which are children yet to find their purpose, some wish they had more time to finish what they started. So it pains me a lot, it makes my heart ache seeing the living live a wasted life, a life with no purpose. I realized early as soon as I learnt to write that “a life with no purpose is a life worthless. People have to open their eyes, mind to realize that everyone has their own life to live, lead and impact – engrave names on the heart of fellow humans and leave prints on the sands of time, so that they will be remembered long after they are gone. It is time we say we’re tired of seeing talents and creativity wasting away, we should strive and work when there is still time on our side and we still have the strength, we should learn all there is to learn and put into productive use. No wonder a wise man once said “This life is all that we have because there is no wisdom or knowledge acquisition in the grave.” Why don’t you start living life to its’ fullest today? Never. Never let anyone…..anything kill your dream or stand in between. Death shouldn’t be feared as man’s greatest defeat but rather his inability to fulfill purpose or destiny.

This is my first trial at spoken word and I feel awesome already!

A million thanks to my ever attentive listeners and readers, I do hope you are inspired by this presentation of mine. I would love to have many more trials at spoken words because not until yesterday did I discover how effective it can be in reaching out to the hearts of people.
