While the 27-year-old "PK" actress is maintaining a stoic silence on the break-up, her former beau is making quite a spectacle of it.
The year has started on a rather ominous note for Bollywood's lovebirds. Close on the heels of Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabani breakups comes the news of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli splitting up, ending a two-year courtship.
A source informed Mirror that while the 27-year-old actress is maintaining a stoic silence on the breakup, her former beau has made quite a spectacle of it. "All rumours about Virat trying to woo Anushka back are hogwash. He unfollowed her on Twitter and Instagram and then, uploaded, deleted and reuploaded a photograph of himself, originally captioned, `Heartbroken'," revealed a source.
At actor Angad Bedi's birthday party on Saturday, held at a five-star nightclub in the city, Virat was working the dance floor, greeting fellow revellers with, "I'm single, let's dance". An eyewitness at the bash informed Mirror that the 27-year-old cricketer was happy and, according to his close pals, "back to his natural, old self".
Furthermore, a guest at the party revealed that Virat had been confiding in them that he was "cloistered around his controlling girlfriend". They were spending little time together, with too much pressure on him to conform.
Meanwhile, Anushka has busied herself with work on the sets of her upcoming film with Salman Khan. She is also busy with three new productions that will roll out under her banner this year. Virat who opted out of the India-Sri Lanka Twenty-20 series to spend time with her was shocked to know that she had taken on all these projects. Virat was on leave till February 14 and wanted to ring in Valentine's Day during the break. Anushka's work plans caught him off guard. They have not been in touch for the last three weeks.
