I Gave Splinterlands a Try and Loved It!
I decided to give Splinterlands a try since I have been playing Gods Unchained and loving it. I had seen a lot of posts on Steem talking about this game, so I looked further into it. The initial comments were that it was a simpler game because most of the battle phase was automated. These comments made me believe that the game was not as good, OH'BOY was I wrong! Whis game is very addicting. The strategy is all in the set-up of the match. There is a lot to think about. I am nowhere close to understanding the best strategy yet.
You have to purchase a starter set to start playing. At first I thought this was a bad idea since it seemed this may reduce the amount of people actually playing the game. But looking further into it the explanation from the developers seemed legit, that they needed some kind of wall to prevent automated bots from gaming the system. As another point, the developers do need a way to raise money for development of this game and a starter set is a great startegy to help finance it. I doubt they would have been able to raise the amount of money that Gods Unchained team was able to raise.
Well, that is enough with actual productive activities. I need to get some wins in this game before the season ends!
