A very deep thought...as I too have wondered about the hearts and minds of the powerful in our world...do they not feel with the same depth of emotion as most of humanity does? Is it a case of ignorance is bliss, or the trademarks of psychopathic calculation?

This may encapsulate the world in a nutshell. If we believe what society and the media tells us, then we ought to believe that we are a brilliant, innovative and highly advanced species. These are the lies we tell ourselves everyday. I do believe human kinds downfall will be directly attributed to our own stupidity - destruction of the natural world / contributing to the extinction of species / War / Arms races / AI / ________ (fill in the blank).
