I know, I know. I cringe whenever I hear the word spirituality. I think it's because the word itself has no real definition. And in my opinion spirituality in The Netherlands has some kind of dull image of people who love angelic statues. Not that I want to offend people who love angelic statues with this blog posts, but I feel like we can make spirituality 'sexier'. So what's a spiritual path all about?

When you on this spiritual path there is no turning back

I'm sorry, no way you can jump out this crazy rollercoaster ride. You may find a spiritual closet once in a while, but whenever your journey to 'awakening' is starting. There is no turning back. This path you are walking on is giving you lessons and experience that will teach you about life.

Eventually, you will get addicted to self-development, because this spiritual path will get you closer to your true self. And this path is far from straight. It's almost like a circle where you will find a deeper truth about yourself. And this circle is forever transforming and expanding. So are you. You are a wonderful piece of art of becoming and unbecoming. And there will be a lot of times where you have to let go of old patterns and believe systems that don't serve you anymore.

Letting go of your old self - over and over and over again

This spiritual path is the less traveled. And you have to remember that there are going to be lots of bumps on the road. But know that the darkness you might experience once in a while has to exist in order for you to let your light shine fiercely. It's totally worth it to rip old parts of yourself that don't serve you anymore. But It takes courage and honesty to heal parts of yourself. Don't resist the change, it's all for the better.

So what's a spiritual path?

Well, the path is yours. You gotta walk the talk baby. To walk the spiritual path - you must live it.
