Nottingham Pagan Pride 2017
Pagan Pride UK is now in its 8th annual year, and yesterday I attended for the second time with friends from my local Pagan Moot. It's held at the Nottingham Arboretum on the first Sunday in August - there is a preliminary parade through the city towards the festival which starts around midday and ends at 6pm (with after-festival drinks nearby for those who want to stay for them.)
In an age in which there is still a lot of false information and prejudice against paganism, occultism and general metaphysical practices like clairvoyance, astrology and tarot, Pagan Pride serves as a place in which like-minded people can gather to celebrate their culture and worldview and present an accurate picture to the public. Non-pagans who wish to support us are always welcome. From my experience, Pagan Pride has crafted a cheerful atmosphere of free-thinking, spirituality and tolerance.
Yesterday was joyous day in which we could purchase metaphysical and Pagan items at stalls. The energy was kept flowing by a variety of bands, and there were a number of food stalls. I had a rather delicious slice of Oreo chocolate cake from the Crocus Café table, a volunteer-led community café in Nottingham which serves good food at affordable prices. A thick slice of cake cost only £2! Have a browse through the photos below to get a flavour of some of the ambience of the event...
A Green Man...
There were some very pretty orgonite crystals on sale (I purchased a couple of them.) Orgone is a universal force discovered in the 1930s by Wilhelm Reich, who developed orgone accumulators to balance out people's individual orgone energy and increase general well-being. They can also be used in magick/manifestation work.
Me with a friend!
Tarot reading in progress...
As you can see, we had numerous people in full magickal attire...robes, staffs and wings galore!
That tie dye dress is amazing :O and I am inspired to get one of those kits and start making some clothes. Lovely pictures with amazing energy. I would love to go somewhere like this, and feel very happy for you, It seems like good energy like this is amazing for our soul health. Orgonite is great stuff.
Blessed Be )O( :)
I'm not one for fates and festivals but this looks really interesting. I'm currently doing a carving of a green man with Sun and Moon above his face. I'll post the picture soon. You look like an interesting person so will follow you for more posts. Please post more.
