What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

Mark 8:36 NIV

This is one of the great reminders in the Bible about our human soul. It is so important that we should be careful about it's final distination. It's importance is incomparable with the temporal things of this world, for what it profits us if we gain all the material things of this world but looses our soul in eternal demnation.

This I believe reminds us that morality and the fear of God is so important because they give us security for our soul. Security in a sense that we will not loose our soul in eternal punishment, or the second death that the Holy Bible speaks about.

In conclusion:
Therefore, do not exchange morality and spirituality with the temporal things of this world and its temporal enjoyment. Let's cherish our soul more than anything, because it is the part of us that never cease to exist but may spend an eternal punishment in the lake of fire....
