RE: Spiritual Narcissism: Rise of A New Cultural Consumption

I think you nailed it here. This type of spiritual righteousness is the ultimate ego trap. Acting enlightened is not how one crosses the sea of consciousness. The true path of waking up in the dream is mostly bloody and brutal with a few awe inspiring moments mixed in.

It can be amazing to realize how blind you once were when you finally probe one of the dark spots of your inner world. However, these moments of unity consciousness of whatever mystical trip you find along the way is not "it". Chasing those hints can not only lead to an extraordinary level of arrogance, but can also be the inner jail cell that locks you away for good. Just because you saw God during an ayahuasca trip doesn't mean you know God or are the keeper of any divine secret. If your spiritual journey plays any role in enforcing or enabling your belief that you are better or worse than anyone, then you have surely missed the mark. Oh and your outfit is irrelevant ...
