Here are todays quotes paired with art, because in this busy world, we rarely have time to reflect on the inner, the hidden, and the little known powerful aspects of our human condition.

"The plants are the pipeline into the Gaian intention. It's just not a coincidence that these plants carry this immense spiritual message. They are the pipeline of Gaian intentionality."

~ Terence McKenna

"As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it."

~ Albert Einstein

“In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.”

~ Friedrich Nietzsche

“If a man wishes to be sure of the road he treads on, he must close his eyes and walk in the dark.”

~ St. John of the Cross

“Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress.”

~ Paramahansa Yogananda

“If there is anything in the world that people do not understand it is the idea of sacrifice. They think they have to sacrifice something that they have. In actual fact they have to sacrifice only what they imagine they have and which in reality they do not have. They must sacrifice their fantasies. But this is difficult for them, very difficult. It is much easier to sacrifice real things. It is very difficult to sacrifice one’s suffering. A man will renounce any pleasures you like but he will not give up his suffering. Man is made in such a way that he is never so much attached to anything as he is to his suffering. Nothing can be attained without suffering but at the same time one must begin by sacrificing suffering.”

~ George Gurdjieff

“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.”

~ Carl G. Jung

Sort:

I've always loved the line in the Book of Luke, "And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

I love that Jung quote and I just started listening to his autobiography earlier today.

I followed you and resteemed this post.
