Christian spirituality: Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. 2 Corinthians 5:11

The early days of the Church and Christianity as a new world religion were not easy at all and a testimony to this truth were the epistles written by the apostle Paul. The gospels were written in the Greek language after the 1st century, and Paul's epistles date from approximately 30 to 60 AD. This is why during Paul's missionary travels and his consequent final trip to the city of Rome the transmission of the events that marked the life of Jesus was fundamentally oral among the first Christians, it could be said that at that time, each Christian teacher had his own book. The byzantine discussions that threatened the unity of the early Church and the christian spirituality were probably very common at that time, and the apostle Paul was probably one of his victims.
This is why Paul, alerted to this problem which seriously affected the Church of Corinth, sent the believers of this community a second letter, and he did so first of all by presenting himself as a faithful witness of the Lord Jesus. Paul had met the Lord Jesus through a heavenly vision on one of his trips to Damascus, and received the holy spirit in baptism in an exceptional way, Paul was without a doubt the correct person to preach the gospel.
With these words, Paul presented himself in his epistle as a truthful and trustworthy witness:
"Therere, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is clear to God, and I hope it is clear to your conscience as well. We are not commending ourselves to you again. Instead, we are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you can answer those who take pride in appearances rather than in the heart" 2 Corinthians 5:11-12.
