Buddhists say that attachment is the root of all suffering. But what does that really mean? Attachment is wanting things to be a certain way, and when they're not, we suffer. We're attached to our own ideas, our own views, and we hold on to them so tightly. We're attached to our own happiness, and we don't want anything to change that. But life is always changing, and nothing ever stays the same. So if we're attached to anything, we're going to suffer. The key is to let go of our attachment, to be open to change, and to find our happiness within ourselves.
