How Does Sharing Other People's Work on Here...Work anyway?

I've been reluctant to share other people's work here on steemit in the normal way that I would share it on a non-monetized social media platform. So here's my question. How does sharing things that you didn't create yourself work on sites like this? I'm hoping someone will educate me.

In the meantime. I wanted to share this because I think it's pretty cool and the guy who made it isn't on steemit as far as I can tell. Anyway, enjoy.
