How much did the military spend yesterday? $444 million
Yesterday's big winner was Chemring Sensors out of Dulles that won a $92 million contract to procure detection systems and spare parts for those systems. Note that not all contracts are competitively bid: “One bid was solicited with one bid received.”
The next largest contract yesterday was SAIC's $50 million “modification” to a previously awarded “firm-fixed-price” contract. (emphasis added)
