Un hermoso lugar para la lectura / Biblioteca Miguel Lerdo de Tejada
Y ustedes ¿Siguen leyendo en el Starbucks? Los invíto a acompañarme en mi recorrido por esta hermosa biblioteca.
La biblioteca Miguel Lerdo de Tejada se encuentra ubicada en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México en la calle República del Salvador número 49 y se encuentra especializada en temas económicos.
Aunque también abre sus puertas a exposiciones temporales. Actualmente en su interior apreciaremos la exposición "Registrar también es escribir" de Ximena Pérez Grobet, una reflexión en torno al libro como objeto.
El edificio data del año 1770 para la orden de la Congregación del Oratorio de San Felipe Neri que tras ser desalojado 1767 por la expulsión de los jesuitas paso a ser incluso un establo y sede de caballerizas, continuando su camino por el tiempo siendo cede del teatro Arbeu para finalmente a finales de los años sesenta convertirse en biblioteca.
Entre 1972 y 1928 el pintor Vlady dió nueva vida a los muros del antiguo oratorio con su obra La Revolución y los Elementos.
A decir del artista su cometido con esta obra era intentar hacer algo que no se había hecho, que no se podía hacer.
Espero les haya gustado este breve recorrido y en su visita por el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México se animen a visitar los bellos murales de esta biblioteca.
