El palacio de las reinas / The palace of the queens.
Pocos palacios en Suecia están tan asociados con la reinas como Drottingholm slott.
En nuestro primer día, dado que el día parecía que iba a ser espléndido, decidimos coger un pequeño barco que nos llevara hasta Drottingholm slott.
El trayecto dura una hora. Nos sentamos en la terraza superior y fuimos recorriendo el lago hasta llegar al palacio.
Este palacio está muy ligado a las reinas de Suecia desde su creación. La primera construcción data de 1580 con la reina Katarina Jagellonica.
De hecho el nombre del palacio se debe a que “Drotting” significa reina mientras que “Holm” es islote. Así que Drottingholm slott significa “el palacio del islote de la reina”.
Mas tarde, en 1661, fue comprado por la reina Hedwig Eleonora, pero desgraciadamente el palacio se quemó pocos meses después.
Esta misma reina emprendió una reconstrucción fastuosa inspirándose en el modelo neoclásico francés. En esta época, Suecia había adquirido un papel preponderante en Europa después de la Paz de Westfalia.
Por eso, hicieron un jardín ornamental con similitud con los de Versalles y Chantilly. Este jardín es amplio con estanques, fuentes, esculturas clásicas y muchas aves.
Drottingholm slott de nuevo volvió a tener relacion con la reina cuando fue obsequiado a la futura monarca Luisa Ulrica en 1744 con motivo de su enlace matrimonial. Ella trasformó la decoración interior al estilo rococó.
Junto al palacio había un teatro que se quemó en 1762. Entonces, la reina decidió reconstruirlo y hacerlo con una gran fastuosidad. Este fue denominado el Teatro de la Corte (Drottinngholm slottsteater) y la reina madre quiso regalárselo por su cumpleaños a su hijo Gustavo III.
Gustavo III fue un rey muy culto y pudimos constatar que todavía hoy es muy querido porque hizo grandes cosas en Suecia. Entre otras cosas era un apasionado de la ópera. El observó que las óperas se cantaban en italiano y otras lenguas pero el pueblo no podía comprenderlas. Así que promovió que se hicieran composiciones musicales utilizando el lenguaje sueco. Gustavo III amaba las artes escénicas y también mandó construir dos teatros en Estocolmo.

aún está en activo e incluso hay una temporada de ópera en verano. Conserva toda la maquinaria en funcionamiento y su escenario de la época inalterado. El escenario, que mide 40 metros de ancho, es el único escenario del siglo XVIII que ha sobrevivido íntegro hasta la actualidad.
Desgraciadamente, Gustavo III murió asesinado en un baile de máscaras y con su defunción el teatro dejó de utilizarse hasta que se reconstruyó en 1922.
Drottingholm slott es actualmente el palacio mejor conservado de Suecia y por ello ha sido distinguido con la consideración de Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1991.
Tras la visita del palacio y del teatro dimos un paseo por los jardines. Nos encantaron porque están muy bien cuidados y limpios.
Frente al edificio principal del palacio, admiramos el clásico monumento a Hércules típico de los jardines versallescos.
Estamos muy agradecidos por la suerte que tuvimos con el buen tiempo ya que nos permitió tener un día maravilloso en contacto con la naturaleza.
Tranquilos regresamos en el barco en un paseo agradable por el lago que nos devolvió a Estocolmo. Fue un día perfecto como habréis podido comprobar en las fotografías. Mañana parece que cambiará el tiempo y quizás llueva, así que haremos la visita imprescindible al Ayuntamiento. Nos vemos.
Visiting the Queen's Palace
Few palaces in Sweden are as associated with queens as Drottingholm slott.
On our first day, since the day looked like it was going to be splendid, we decided to take a small boat that would take us to Drottingholm slott.
The journey takes one hour. We sat on the upper terrace and went along the lake until we reached the palace.
This palace is closely linked to the queens of Sweden since its inception. The first construction dates from 1580 with the queen Katarina Jagellonica.
In fact the name of the palace is because "Drotting" means queen while "Holm" is an islet. So Drottingholm slott means "the palace of the islet of the queen".
Later, in 1661, it was bought by Queen Hedwig Eleonora, but unfortunately the palace burned a few months later.
This same queen undertook a lavish reconstruction inspired by the French neoclassical model. At this time, Sweden had acquired a preponderant role in Europe after the Peace of Westphalia.
For that reason, they made an ornamental garden similar to those of Versailles and Chantilly. This garden is spacious with ponds, fountains, classical sculptures and many birds.
Drottingholm slott again had a relationship with the queen when he was presented to the future monarch Luisa Ulrica in 1744 on the occasion of their marriage. She transformed the interior decoration to Rococo style.
Next to the palace there was a theater that burned down in 1762. Then, the queen decided to reconstruct it and to do it with a great magnificence. This was called the Court Theater (Drottinngholm slottsteater) and the queen mother wanted to give it to her son Gustavo III for his birthday.
Gustavo III was a very cultured king and we could confirm that he is still very popular today because he did great things in Sweden. Among other things he was passionate about opera. He observed that operas were sung in Italian and other languages but the people could not understand them. So he promoted the making of musical compositions using the Swedish language. Gustavo III loved the performing arts and also had two theaters built in Stockholm.
The Drottinngholm slottsteater it is still active and there is even an opera season in summer. It keeps all the machinery in operation and its scenario of the unaltered period. The stage that measures 40 meters of wide is the only stage of the eighteenth century that has survived intact until today.
Unfortunately, Gustavo III was killed in a masked ball and with his death the theater stopped being used until it was rebuilt in 1922.
Drottingholm slott is currently the best preserved palace in Sweden and for that reason it has been distinguished with the consideration of World Heritage by Unesco in 1991
After the visit of the palace and the theater we took a walk through the gardens. We loved them because they are very well maintained and clean.
In front of the main building of the palace, we admire the classic monument to Hercules typical of Versailles gardens.
We are very grateful for the luck we had with the good weather since it allowed us to have a wonderful day in contact with nature.
Quietly we returned on the boat on a pleasant walk along the lake that brought us back to Stockholm. It was a perfect day as you will have seen in the photographs. Tomorrow it seems that the weather will change and maybe it will rain, so we will make the essential visit to the Town Hall. See you.

Everything I did on my mobile phone, I did not use the computer at all.
For the drawings, I use the Sketches program and paint them on the tablet.

Lo primero que hice al abrir Steemit fue venir a tu blog jejeje... Tenía que seguir admirando tan bellos lugares a través de tus fotos. Awwww... cuánto extraño estas tierras nórdicas!!!! Espero poder regresar pronto. Un abrazo enorme :)
