The Verb "Comer" in Spanish and How to Use It
The verb comer means to eat. It is a regular -ER verb and is conjugated the same as regular -ER verbs. If you do not know the endings for present tense -ER verbs, here they are:
yo = -o
tú = -es
él/ella/usted = -e
nosotros(as) = -emos
vosotros(as) = -éis
ustedes/ellos(as) = -en
Now, let's conjugate the verb comer. To do this we take off the -er and replace with -er endings.
Thus, we have:
yo como = I eat
tú comes = you eat
él/ella/usted come = he/she/you (formal) eat(s)
nosotros(as) comemos = we eat
vosotros(as) coméis = you all (Spain) eat
ustedes/ellos(as) comen = you all (Latin America + Spain(formal)/ they eat
Now, let's look at some example sentences below:
- Yo como la pizza. = I eat pizza.
- Tú no comes helado. = You don't eat ice cream.
- Daniel come arroz con pollo. = Daniel eats rice and chicken.
- Nosotras comemos palomitas de maíz. = We (all girls) eat popcorn.
- Vosotros coméis tres veces por día. = You all (Spain) eat three times a day.
- Ustedes no comen carne. = You all (Latin America + Spain (formal in Spain) don't eat meat.
Hope this is helpful for you! Stay tuned for IR verbs tomorrow!

Really enjoying these Spanish language posts, helping me slowly relearn some of the Spanish I had forgotten through years of disuse :)
Now if only someone would do something similar for German, I'd be able to get all my language study done on Steemit :)
Glad you like them! I wish I knew more German as well! I used to know more but I can say only a few things. Krankenwagon is ambulance haha. Wo bist du? = Where are you? Hallo = hello; Hund = dog, etc. I know little things but not much about grammar structure and more complex themes.
