#Sabiasque hoy se celebra el día internacional de la mujer afrodescendiente?
Cada 25 de Julio desde el año 1.992 se celebra el Día Internacional de la Mujer Afrodescendiente.

Esta celebración que ya arriba para sus 26 años, surgió luego de que un grupo de mujeres negras de 32 países de América Latina y el Caribe se reunieran en Santo Domingo - República Dominicana, para realizar el primer Encuentro de Mujeres Afrolatinoamericanas y Afrocaribeñas para definir estrategias y así enfrentar su doble discriminación y desigualdad: La de ser mujeres, y el racismo, así hacer valer sus derechos humanos y ser tomadas en cuenta desde el ámbito social, cultural y político.
Este día busca dignificar a la mujer afrodescendiente, y recordar que no debe existir discriminación alguna por el tipo de género ni de color de piel, y que las mujeres de descendencia africana tienen pleno disfrute de sus derechos sociales, culturales, civiles, económicos y políticos asi como también participación igualitaria en todos los aspectos de la sociedad.
