Lucas Modric, Marcos Llorente y Sergio Ramos, además de un tanto en propia puerta del Al Ain, dieron los cuatro tantos que dibujaron la goleada del club español frente a los locales Al Ain, en Abu Dabi, que sólo pudieron marcar un tanto gracias a la intervenciòn de Shiotani para maquillar un poco el resultado final del encuentro.
Con este nuevo título los merengues llevan una cosecha de tres trofeos títulos mundiales consecutivos tras alcanzar el campeonato del 2016 frente Kasshima japonés y hacer lo propio en el 2017 frente al conjunto Gremio de Brasil.
