¿Burbuja en el fútbol? SÍ - Bubble in football/soccer? YES

Como gran aficionado al fútbol, este deporte tan seguido en España, Europa, Sudamérica, Asia y que cada vez más lo es en Norteamérica, estoy bastante asustado con los acontecimientos y escándalos que están ocurriendo estos últimos años. Voy a dar un repaso a estos hitos y a comentar un poco mi visión sobre ellos.

As a great fan of football/soccer, this sport so loved in Spain, Europe, South America, Asia and increasingly in North America, I am quite frightened by the events and scandals that are occurring in recent years. I am going to give a review to these milestones and to comment a little my vision on them.

Lo más llamativo que puedo comentar sobre el fútbol, y que todo el mundo puede ver, es que el gasto en fichajes se está yendo a límites que hace unos pocos años nadie pensaría que iba a llegar. Respecto a este tema, podemos hablar de varias zonas del mundo distintas, porque aunque en Europa se está gastando cantidades brutales para fichar a jugadores, también se han hecho en otros países.

Hablando sobre clubes y no sobre selecciones, el fútbol europeo es el gran dominador del fútbol mundial. ¿Por qué ocurre esto? Es sencillo, la cantidad de ingresos de los clubes aumenta cada año, es más, podría decir que ha aumentado de forma exponencial. El fútbol se ha convertido en un negocio, cada vez hay más equipos manejados por grandes empresarios árabes, rusos y americanos. Un gran ejemplo es el terremoto que ha causado el fichaje de Neymar por el Paris Saint-Germain. Ha desencadenado que el Barcelona haga el fichaje más caro de su historia, que es Dembélé.

Why is this happening? It is simple, the amount of income of the clubs increases each year, what's more, you could say that it has increased exponentially. Football/Soccer has become a business, more and more teams are being managed by large Arab, Russian and American entrepreneurs. A great example is the earthquake that caused the signing of Neymar by the Paris Saint-Germain. It has triggered that Barcelona make the most expensive signing of its history, which is Dembélé.

El fútbol inglés también se ha vuelto loco, equipos de mitad de la clasificación gastan en fichajes cantidades millonarias. Por poner un ejemplo, el Watford paga 20,4 millones de euros por Andre Gray, un jugador del Burnley. Estamos hablando de muchísimo dinero, cantidad que hace unos pocos años era solamente alcanzada por los grandes equipos de Europa. Con todos mis respetos a ambos equipos y a ese jugador, esto demuestra que el fútbol actual vive en una burbuja económica que a mi juicio, poco falta para que explote.

Superliga China - Chinese Super League

Otro país que está alimentando la burbuja futbolística es China. Este año no ha dado mucho que hablar pero el año pasado y el anterior se vio que están contribuyendo de forma considerable a que este deporte reviente. Han pagado cantidades gigantes por jugadores que podían estar perfectamente jugando en Europa, como por ejemplo Paulinho, que vuelve a Europa fichado por el Barcelona procedente del Guangzhou Evergrande. Convencen a los jugadores para que jueguen en una liga menor como la china con sueldos multimillonarios similares a los que pagan grandes equipos europeos. Claramente, esto no es normal y pronto estallará.

MLS y fútbol árabe - MLS and Arab football/soccer

Este caso es distinto al del fútbol chino y europeo. Estas ligas están siendo principalmente el objetivo de jugadores que quieren tener un último contrato millonario aunque cada vez más jugadores jóvenes apuestan por relanzar sus carreras en estos países. El primer jugador importante que dio el salto a la MLS fue Beckham y el primero que se aventuró a irse a Qatar fue Raúl. Estas ligas no parece que estén contribuyendo a la burbuja futbolística por ahora, en unos años veremos como continua el fútbol en estos países.

This case is different from Chinese and European football/soccer. These leagues are being mainly the target of players who want to have a last millionaire contract although more and more young players are betting to relaunch their careers in these countries. The first major player to make the leap to the MLS was Beckham and the first to venture to Qatar was Raul. These leagues do not seem to be contributing to the football/soccer bubble for now, in a few years we will see how football continues in these countries.

Corrupción - Corruption

Además de la burbuja que vivimos, no puedo dejar de nombrar el escándalo de corrupción que hemos vivido con Platini y Blatter, máximos responsables de la UEFA y FIFA, los dos organismos más importantes del fútbol mundial. Haber recibido pagos por favores otorgados por sus puestos les dio la inhabilitación por 8 años de cualquier actividad relacionada con el fútbol. Personalmente, creo que no son los únicos corruptos en este mundo, y lo podemos ver con casos como Sandro Rosell, expresidente del Barcelona, y otros muchos nombres que acabarán saliendo, muchos de ellos que parecen muy inocentes.
