EL HOLOCRÓN (What is the holocron)
Tienen alguna idea de, ¿Qué es el Holocrón? de verdad es algo impresionante. Son veinte mil años de historias, junto a diecisiete mil personajes, eso junto a los planetas en que aparecen que pueden ser utilizadas por sus dueños para ser cualquier cantidad de películas, series e historietas o comiscs. Y todo lo antes mencionado, está dentro de la base de datos de una empresa que desde hace un tiempo para acá pertenece a Disney, llamada nada más y nada menos que Lucasfilm.

There are twenty thousand years of stories, along with seventeen thousand characters, that along with the planets in which they appear that can be used by their owners to be any number of movies, series and cartoons or comiscs. And all the aforementioned, is within the database of a company that for some time now belongs to Disney, called nothing more and nothing less than Lucasfilm
Ya hicieron conexión, el potencial fílmico de La Guerra de las Galaxias es infinito. Igual que la genialidad de George Lucas, que en los años setenta tuvo la visionaria idea de rebajar su sueldo como director, a cambio de un porcentaje en las ventas de lo que dentro del mundo de la mercadotecnia llaman merchandising. En otras palabras, por parte de las ganancias en las regalías de juguetes, franelas, tazas, mochilas y cualquier otro objeto que se les ocurra.
They already made connection, the film potential of Star Wars is infinite. Like the genius of George Lucas, who in the seventies had the visionary idea of lowering his salary as a director, in exchange for a percentage in sales of what in the world of marketing called merchandising. In other words, on the part of the profits in the royalties of toys, flannels, cups, backpacks and any other object that comes to mind.
Pero la historia es más interesante de lo que creen. Por su inexperiencia e incertidumbre el porcentaje que Lucas cobraba al principio de la saga fue mínimo, y la empresa que fabricaba los productos obtenía la gran tajada por las ventas de todo esos suvenir, cosa que un zorro viejo como George no podía permitirse; así que tuvo la precaución de colocar en el contrato una clausula que alegaba que si la empresa no cumplía por más de un año con esa clausula, el contrato quedaba sin efecto. Y precisamente eso fue lo que ocurrió.
But the story is more interesting than they think. Because of their inexperience and uncertainty the percentage that Lucas charged at the beginning of the saga was minimal, and the company that manufactured the products got the big cut for the sales of all that souvenir, something that an old fox like George could not afford; so he took the precaution of placing in the contract a clause that alleged that if the company did not comply for more than a year with that clause, the contract was without effect. And that's precisely what happened.
El cineasta dejo por un tiempo de filmar películas y la gente se olvido de los juguetes que ya no generaban las mismas ganancias. Por lo que la empresa se descuido en el cumplimiento de la clausula y entonces George Lucas alegó incumplimiento del contrato. Una vez que tenia la salten por el mango el director volvió a negociar con la empresa; pero esta vez con un margen de 50 y 50 por ciento. Prácticamente Lucas ha ganado tanto o más por merchandising que por sus películas. ¡Qué tal…!
The filmmaker left for a while to film movies and people forgot toys that no longer generated the same profits.
