ANTONIO VIVALDI
Cure, musician and entrepreneur
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi was born on March 4, 1678 in Venice. Music studio with his father, Giovanni Batista Vivaldi.
He was ordained priest in the year 1703, leaving after asthmatic affections at the same time as a professor of violin and began teaching at the Ospedale della Pieta a conservatory for orphaned and destitute girls. Thirteen years later he was appointed concertmaster and choir director.
In 1710 he was already a famous composer in Venice and in the main European squares. In 1713 he premiered his first opera, Ottone in Villa, from 1725 to 1735, where he composed and produced operas and a concert in Mantua, where he was appointed master of the chapel of Prince Philip of Hesse-Darmstadt.
He composed three great dramatic oratorios that are still very famous among them: Juditha triumphans. In the year 1726 he met the soprano Anna Giraud, or Giro who played a role in one of his operas, Farnace, with whom he established a relationship of friendship and musical collaboration until the end of the musician's life.
Between 1725 and 1728, he premiered eight operas in Venice and Florence, and in 1725 he published in Amsterdam Il cimento dell'armonía e dell'invernzione, a monumental compilation of 12 concert cycles, including The Four Seasons.
The company of Vivaldi raised the same amount of Italian operas, among which he highlighted those of his own authorship.
His fame earned favors from great monarchs including the Prince of Bavaria Carlos Alberto and the Emperor Charles VI, as well as the King of France, Louis XV. In 1737, he was invited to Amsterdam as guest conductor on the centenary of the founding of the theater of this city. In 1740 he undertook a trip to Vienna apparently because of the serious crisis that Venice was going through at that time. He died in Vienna in unknown circumstances in 1741 on July 26 or 27, without money he had been buried in the cemetery called the cemetery of the poor in his right a funeral chant in the choir Josef Haydn for nine years.
