La leyenda de Castletown cuenta que Tom Connolly el heredero de Willians Conolly, una tarde mientras cazaba se encontró con un desconocido y se hizo amigo de éste; Conolly luego de cazar lo invitó a su casa a cenar.
Cuando llegaron a la masión el desconocido se quitó las botas y Conolly vió sorprendido con horror que tenía en lugar de dedos enormes pezuñas; ante tal hallazgo, mantuvo la calma y lo invito a esperar la cena en la sala, mientras que él salió rápidamente a buscar al párroco del pueblo para contarle que en su casa estaba el demonio.
Cuando regresaron, al intentar ahuyentar al demonio de la mansión, éste rompió un gran espejo que estaba en la sala y casi todo lo que encontró en su camino, logrando escapar por la chimenea principal.
