Palacio de Bellas Artes/ Palace of Fine Arts
The Palace of Fine Arts is a cultural center located in the Historic Center of Mexico City. Considered as the maximum house of the expression of culture, it is the most important lyric theater and the most important center of the country dedicated to all the manifestations of the fine arts. Unesco declared it an artistic monument in 1987.
Its construction was commissioned by the then Mexican president Porfirio Díaz at the end of his term, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the beginning of the Independence of Mexico.
This site houses various stages and rooms for the practice and exhibition of works of art. Highlights its Main Hall with seating for 1,677 people and a stage of twenty-four meters in length.
El Palacio de Bellas Artes es un centro cultural ubicado en el Centro Histórico de Ciudad de México. Considerado como la casa máxima de la expresión de la cultura, es el teatro lírico más relevante y el centro más importante del país dedicado a todas las manifestaciones de las bellas artes. La Unesco lo declaró monumento artístico en 1987.
Su construcción fue encargada por el entonces presidente mexicano Porfirio Díaz al final de su mandato, con motivo de la celebración del centenario del inicio de la Independencia de México.
Este recinto alberga diversos escenarios y salas para la práctica y exposición de obras de arte. Destaca su Sala Principal con aforo para 1,677 personas y un escenario de veinticuatro metros de longitud.
