El Reino Unido prohíbe armas autónomas después de la carta de Elon Musk
El Reino Unido se ha alineado con los expertos mundiales en robótica e inteligencia artificial para declarar formalmente que los humanos siempre mantendrán el control sobre los sistemas de armas robóticas del país.
En agosto, Elon Musk lideró a 116 expertos en robótica y AI al pedir la prohibición de armas autónomas. La carta, con firmantes de 26 países, fue enviada a la ONU con una advertencia ominosa:
"No tenemos mucho tiempo para actuar. Una vez que se abra la caja de Pandora, será difícil cerrarla".
El anuncio del Ministerio de Defensa del Reino Unido coincide con el Salón de Defensa y Equipo de Seguridad Internacional, una de las exposiciones de armas más grandes del mundo.
Mark Lancaster, ministro de las fuerzas armadas, dijo: "Es absolutamente correcto que nuestras armas sean operadas por personas reales capaces de tomar decisiones increíblemente importantes, y estamos garantizando esa supervisión vital".
