While the market goes deep... I'm enjoying this.
While the market keeps bleeding today after this sudden attack of the bears, I've enjoyed a tipical colombian food to forget about the paper losses.
Guess what? Arepas!
After the preparation of the dough, a pleasuring game comes. Give it the proper shape.
Reminded me when I was a kid and played with the sand and the water in the playground of my kindergarten.
We were nine people at lunch, so we prepared a few plates like this one.
I like all the possibilities of the Arepa's. They're so 'versatile'.
You can eat'em salty (as a main dish), sweet as a dessert... or just alone if you're hungry!
Just sayin' , get some water... coz you'll need help to swallow that delicious dish.
No need to say this (maybe), but personally I've enjoyed a lot yesterday's meal.
Give me some Izaguirre's, sausages, plantain and arepa's and I'll be the happiest man.

Delicious! arepas are the main dish of the Venezuelan. The filling is what differentiates them. We can eat arepas stuffed with roasted meat, chicken salad, avocado and a variety of fillings. Bon appetit @fcalabuig

Hello fcalabuig. The arepa is the bread of Venezuelans. Of course we also eat bread. They are made from ground corn and accompany any meal, from breakfast, to lunch and ending at dinner. I've haven't tried to fill the arepa, but with chicken and spicy sauce could be awesome!
Definitivamente las arepas son lo mejor que hay, buenas como para un desayuno, puedo observar que no la rellenaste pero no importa así también son buenísimas; y si, también se pueden comer como postre (Arepitas dulces) se le añade a la masa un toque de azúcar y anís. Saludos

Comerlas como postre me recuerda (vagamente) a los gofres o las crepes, pero con una masa mucho más consistente.

El error esta en afirmar q la arepa es procedente de Colombia. La realidad es q es de Venezuela y como casi todo lo q se hace aquí lo han copiado los colombianos... Saludos
Jajaja sin ánimo de entrar en una disputa entre colombianos y venezolanos @chucho.
Piensa que si alguien te copia en algo es porque no tiene mejor forma de hacerlo, no implica necesariamente algo malo.
