Los Sex Shops no están autorizados, los cubanos improvisan variantes de juguetes sexuales provocando en algunos casos graves consecuencias para la salud. El Gobierno prohíbe la posibilidad de montar este tipo de negocio a los cuentapropistas.
“Que se puede esperar de un país dirigido en su totalidad por ancianos”. Esa fue la frase más frecuente que expresaron la mayoría de jóvenes a los cuales les preguntamos si conocían y que pensaban acerca de los Sex Shops y su prohibición en Cuba.
Tony García radica en el Municipio de Boyeros y tiene doble ciudadanía; española y cubana lo que le ha permitido viajar a varios países de Latinoamérica y también a Estados Unidos. Al preguntarle del tema nos comentó: “En uno de mis primeros viajes a Perú hace mas de 2 años tuve la posibilidad de conocer un Sex Shops por primera vez. Muchos cubanos ni siquiera se imaginan que estas tiendas de lencería y juguetes sexuales existan. A mi regreso a la isla se me ocurrió que sería una buena inversión montar un negocio particular de este tipo y me dirigí a las oficinas del Ministerio de Trabajo a pedir las licencias necesarias para el mismo.
Cuando les explique a los funcionarios que yo quería abrir un Sex Shops me preguntaron si yo estaba loco que eso aquí no se podía hacer, que era ilegal y que eso se podía tomar como actividades de pornografía y me podía incluso costar la cárcel. He viajado a más de 8 países y lo mismo en Latinoamérica, en Estados Unidos o en Europa los Sex Shops son muy normales y no son para nada ilegales”.
Laura Suarez una joven de 23 años que actualmente estudia enfermería añadió: Ya he visto en mis prácticas docentes en varios Hospitales muchos casos de jóvenes que llegan a Urgencias con cuerpos extraños en el recto o en la vagina lo mismo mujeres que hombres.
Muchos deben ser sometidos a cirugías para poder extraer dichos objetos poniendo en juego la vida del paciente. Pienso que si existieran lugares o tiendas donde vendieran este tipo de juguetes sexuales nada de esto pasaría. La mayoría de los objetos usados por estas personas no fueron construidos con tal fin. Cada quien es libre de vivir su sexualidad a plenitud y el gobierno no debería frenar esto. Claro como la mayoría de los gobernantes que tenemos superan los 60 años de edad a lo mejor ya estos temas no son de su interés”.

En Cuba la homofobia y la discriminación sexual esta a la orden del día. José Augusto de 59 años de edad nos contó: “A lo largo de los 59 años del triunfo de la Revolución en Cuba han existido y existen muchas discriminaciones sexuales. La libertad sexual y el sexo siempre ha sido un tabú para la revolución. Un claro ejemplo de esto fue la creación de las UMAP (Unidad Militar de ayuda a la producción) entre 1965 y 1968 donde el gobierno creó campos de concentración para homosexuales, donde eran obligados a ejecutar trabajos forzosos y eran separados de sus familias por el simple hecho de tener otra preferencia sexual o pertenecer a alguna religión”.

Los juguetes sexuales que se importan ocultos entre los equipajes de algunos cubanos que viajan son comercializados en el mercado negro de la Isla a precios muy por encima de su valor real, los cubanos deben buscar otras alternativas a los juguetes sexuales y tristemente algunos han parado seriamente heridos por usar objetos que no fueron diseñados con estos fines.

"What can you expect from a country run entirely by the elderly?" That was the most frequent phrase expressed by the majority of young people to whom we asked them if they knew and thought about the Sex Shops and its prohibition in Cuba.
Tony Garcia lies in the Municipality of Boyeros and has dual citizenship; Spanish and Cuban, which has allowed her to travel to several countries in Latin America and also to the United States. Laura Suarez, a 23-year-old girl who is currently studying nursing, added: I have seen in my teaching practices in many hospitals many cases of young people who come to the ER with foreign bodies in the rectum or in the vagina, the same as women.
Many must undergo surgeries in order to extract these objects, putting the patient's life at stake. I think that if there were places or stores where they sold this type of sex toys none of this would happen. Most of the objects used by these people were not built for that purpose. Everyone is free to live their sexuality fully and the government should not stop this. Of course, most of the rulers that we have are over 60 years of age and maybe these issues are not of their interest. "
In Cuba, homophobia and sexual discrimination are the order of the day. José Augusto, 59 years old, told us: "Throughout the 59 years of the triumph of the Revolution in Cuba, there have been and there are many sexual discriminations. Sexual freedom and sex has always been a taboo for revolution.
