Hello my fellow Steemians,

I came a cross a wonderful post today by @votovzla (Link below). It was a team in Venezuela having a wonderful time while promoting Steem and the steemit platform. After reading the post, I thought to my self this would be a great story to share with my family and friends since I am Dominican American and a large part of my family lives overseas. I am doing this in hopes that maybe I can help build a team in my home town to spread the word about steemit and the blockchain technology.

We do not need a government or a bank to control our money, we can take on that responsibility ourselves.

You can invest in new applications, companies and ideas from the ground up and it’s open to regular people like you and I. This is what this new technology is offering, and yes is new, and yes is volatile and yes you should be careful when investing in any new technology , this is not investment advice it’s more like a wakeup call. Blockchain is just like when the internet was invented. No one believed it could become such a huge part of our everyday life and look at where we are now!

Please do not think that you have to spend any money to be involved. There are different ways to get involved in the blockchain community.
