Sapo de Surinam (Pipa pipa)
Este distintivo anfibio de América del Sur es una de las siete especies del género Pipa muy inusual. Los intrigantesmiembros de este grupo son casi inconfundibles ya que tienen un cuerpo muy aplanado. A diferencia de muchas otras especies de anfibios, los miembros del género Pipa no se sientan sobre sus extremidades anteriores y en su lugar se caracterizan por adoptar una posición extendida con las extremidades apuntando hacia el exterior.
