Thank you for this post. I enjoyed listening to your original composition in honor of Leonard Bernstein's birthday, and you're right. I was able to recognize a number of phrases. Bernstein was a remarkable composer and conductor, so it is fitting that you recognize the centenial anniversary of his birth.
