Beautiful Yellow Cosmos! Post of nature. Original @Carlagonz.

in #spanish6 years ago (edited)

Hello dear steemers..

Welcome to another post of nature I hope you learn a lot from this data about this beautiful plant.

This time I bring a post about this beautiful plant, originally from Central America, its scientific name "Cosmos sulphureus", and it is a perfect decision to take it to decorate some space, commonly used in small gardens, for the striking its phenotypic properties and its pleasant smell.

Its common yellow flowers (although it can also vary to orange or red tones), with eight elongated petals without subtly superposed interpetal cavities, contains pistils in the shape of a bouquet that will dry the flower, later generating seeds for the continuous and rapid reproduction of the plant , the stem where the flower sprouts, is usually long with the purpose of looking for light over the dense shrub, which usually does not grow more than 2m.

According to my dear @franqueff agronomist, this plant blooms once a year, for the months of October or November, this is because its average life time is annual, where I have taken the photographs, I have noticed that this species attracts many butterflies mainly and a certain smaller amount of bees and other insects of the same family.

The leaves are longer than wide and have a triangular appearance and in some cases toothed on the edges of the leaf, with an approximate length of 20 cm, the color is vibrant green a little dark.

Its uses around the world are very varied, mainly as decoration for its striking colors (ornamental), however in some regions of Mexico and the US. It is considered as a weed, and a curious fact is that in some places in Indonesia it is used for some recipes because of its strong smell and flavor of the leaves.

It is possible that you get similar species, since in some places they improve the plant to achieve better results in the flowers, for ornamental use.

In this post we have also talked about bees and butterflies do not hesitate to take a look at the post that I made earlier on these cute insects.

¿Sabrás el nombre de las flores amarillas?, en los Altos de Sucre tomé unas fotos de unas flores parecidas pero no recuerdo su nombre.
