El sombrero de cogollo de la hoja de los dátiles, es un producto artesanal confeccionada en paja trenzada.
Es muy popular, en la Isla de Margarita en la población de San Juan BAutista, el cual este arte se ha mantenido de generación en generación.
Las personas que realizan este sombrero tejen una larga tira que luego van uniendo con una costura hasta darle forma y completar el sombrero.
Los hombres son los encargados de sacar los cogollos de los datileros,mientras las mujeres trenzan las hojas y le dan forma al sombrero.
