Historia Real:
La pareja que se ve abrazándose en la habitación antes de morir ahogados en la película está basada en Ida e Isidor Strauss, dueños de la tienda Macy's, que fallecieron en la historia real. A Ida se le ofreció un asiento en un bote salvavidas, pero lo rechazó para quedarse con su marido y morir junto a él.
