All SBI accounts have a minimum upvote of $0.012. So if you're mentioned in the voting report, you got actual value, not micro-cents. It's not the most popular threshold because it means 1 SBI only gets an upvote every few weeks, but we think it's a lot better than delivering thousands of dust votes.
For the most part our upvote reports have been well-received. I can definitely understand flagging mention spam, especially when you're mentioned because of a micro-vote.
I definitely don't consider your up-votes spam. The purpose of SBI is not just to skim curation rewards off the blockchain. As a somewhat large holder of SBI, I can say you guys definitely add value to Steem and I highly recommend people look into SBI.
