I can not stand anymore with the SPAM in the comments ...
I can not stand more with the SPAM in the comments, so from today I will give a flag to all comments that are not related to what I wrote in the post.

The truth is that before I only muted the users but it has already become something massive in Steemit and, like many others that have already started, I also want to do something because I can not stand it anymore. For now, the only thing I can do, and I think that is the only thing that really can be done in Steemit, is to flag the comments that are SPAM.
And I'm not only going to give a flag to the short comments but also those other long but meaningless comments that use two or three words of the publication to make you believe that someone has read it ... they seem more made by an Artificial Intelligence than by a Human, really meaningless things most of the time, for example this comment in a Steepshot publication (photo) about a chocolate that a friend gave me.
You're gonna be busy man, because with the growth of Steemit and with that more users, I think it will only get worse with all those SHIT, and copy-paste-comments. Still I totally agree with your decision. Good luck.

Sometimes it's actually tough to see if it's spam and in one case I recently thought it was a spammer, but then it turned out to be a normal comment^^
This spam is totally unnerving and destroys the entire post/comment flow. The worst are the ones in the wrong language - I even had one once in French!
I wish there was a list with known spam users and then you give the authority to collectively flag all content of these users. And if you want to get off the list you have to prove that you're not a spammer. Maybe that can be done in connection with the bot block list with spammers.

Could be that there is something like it but is in different posts, there is not a unique list but the estrategie you proposse is kind of interesting.

90% of comments are spam, there are also a ton of circlej89rk operations on here where cops upvote each other with persona management/sybil traffic.

But if the fbi came into steemit in late 2016, spent a handful of the confiscated coins from the silk road, and bought enough coin so that any of their agents who set up on here have 60+ rep within a week and 1000 SP on day one, which is what it looks like happened, then, well this is just a shitshow, and EOS will be too.
Check out all the comments on something like The Conscious Resistance, or @kennyskitchen or @suzie3d, all fake comments, all fake users.
Check out my upvotes and comments over the past 2 weeks as I have intensified my investigations, 90% of my comments are from obvious shell/shill users who simply appear 0% human.
Then there is the new feed, which is 99% spam trying to appear like some tween fisherman from thailand just got his first account on the internet. Sad thing is that guy is probably out there but we'll never meet him due to all the static from probably state-sponsored subversion.
The steemit concept is one TPTB do NOT want to see happen, as then they can't control history and their agents cannot operate without being questioned.
Further study of my blog will be rewarded. Upvoted followed.
This is a very interesting idea and I will take a look for sure in all this you talk about in your comment. I will not be so surprised if you find out all this to be true 100% honestly speaking. They do not like free speech or anything like it!

All time I receive that kind of comments, but I've more patience (for now, maybe because I'm newer here). The people is only looking for attention, and nobody stops to read anything.

The spam is pretty out of control. Sometimes it is hard though to tell if a user is actually writing a spam comment or if English just isn't their first language and they are struggling. I will admit some are pretty obvious though :) -@bozz
Yes, that happens to me too sometimes but then I check the profile and comments from the user to see I am not making a mistake or something ;)

I started to flag spam comments some days ago. At first I started to give a "friendly advice" to the spammers, but now I'm really tired and also angry, because I noticed also an increase of people who wrote spam comments, don't upvote the post but sure, they upvote their own spam comments! Enough is enough! :(
This are the worst and also sometimes the wirte "I upped and re-steemed your post do the same with mine" and when you check is not true. It is really something we should fight with what we can, in this case, the flag! I was like you, commenting and trying to be nice but ... is too much!
