the Gothic Quarter
Center of Barcelona and the center of all its medieval attractions, the Gothic Quarter lies between Rambla and Lajetana Street. Despite the fact that many buildings here date from the 14th to 15th centuries, there are plenty of cozy restaurants, expensive shops and lively nightclubs in the Gothic quarter. The layout of the area is a cobweb of narrow streets, many of which are pedestrian, meeting on rectangular squares, surrounded on all sides by endless buildings. Among the most attractive - the square of St. James, a leading story since ancient times, the shady Reyal and the cozy Del Rey.
