Be careful on vacation

in #spain7 years ago (edited)

This Wednesday a couple, a 48-year old male and his 39-year old wife, drowned near El Tossals beach in Guardamar del Segura.

This beach has no lifeguards, but there were red flags waving, warning that swimming is prohibited.

So far this year 246 people drowned in Spain.

Be aware of the flags. A red flag means ABSOLUTELY no swimming. If you do go into the sea and survive you will receive a huge fine for ignoring the flag and endangering others (rescuers). In case a rescuer has to come and save you, maybe by boat, all cost associated will be charged to you. You are not allowed to leave the country until this is paid!

Take car of the flags. Green means it is safe to swim, yellow means don’t swim out of your depth and red prohibits swimming altogether.
A special flag is this one:

This means jellyfish are plaguing the waters, swimming at own risk.

Apart from this; enjoy Spain.
