South Africa to Launch 1st astronomical telescope

South Africa is launching its 1st automated astronomical telescope on Fri within the province of Northern Cape, the headquarters of the country's space exploration project.

The Meerlicht astronomical telescope could before long help unravel the mysteries of the universe, starting with a better investigate the large African skies.

Optical telescopes work by detection light in space – and this one are going to be used alongside a radio telescope.

Together they'll a provides a real-time image the solar system in the dark.

This latest development is part of the square kilometer Array (SKA) project - that once completed are going to be the most important telescope within the world – the scale of about two hundred soccer fields.

The SKA can have antennas here in Republic of South Africa, New Zealand and Australia and is anticipated to alterspace exploration as we all know it.
