We just sent a new message to Aliens on another world, but is it setting our doom?

in #space6 years ago (edited)

Astronomers just recently sent new radio signals in hopes of reaching Aliens on another world.

This particular radio signal was sent to GJ 273, which is a red dwarf in the northern constellation of Canis Minor. GJ 273 is roughly 12 light years away, and this particular planet orbits in the habitable zone of the constellation. The defined habitable zone has a potential for liquid water, which far as we know, can mean life.

As our planet continues to search and send out distant messages into space this brings an interesting debate. The possibility of alien life being the complete opposite of friendly is very likely, in a similar scenario when explorers conquered and colonized our very own planet.

What's your thoughts, are we prematurely setting our doom or a warm welcome?

ohhh really identify your location...

Really have aliens

Aliens are already living with us and visiting us regularly. I think they are not interested in contacting us, because they are more advanced then we are and it doesnt make any sense for them
Thank you for sharing :)

I really like your post:-)))

i like your post

Thanks for sharing this. The good thing is we have 12 years before they get the message and another 12 (minimum) before they come to earth to take over the planet. I feel safer with a 24 year buffer.
